It’s a new year and that means you may be thinking of the different ways you’d like to reorganize your life. But to do so you’ll need to start somewhere else.
And that, my friends, is by organizing your home.
I spoke to my father recently after he had returned home to NJ and he said he honestly felt better in my home than he did at his own. Weird, huh? So I told him, it’s all about the atmosphere and not having clutter everywhere. For those of you who have been to my parents’ home in NJ, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
In my parents’ home, there’s something in every corner and oftentimes those things don’t belong there. And don’t get me started on the majority of the things that aren’t being used and are an eyesore.
I joke with my mom saying she’s going to end up in that show Hoarders, but it’s not that bad — yet!
So what can you do to make your home (and everyday life) a better place for you to enjoy? Here are five ways you can improve your home and make it your sanctuary again:
1. Avoid clutter.
2. Find a place for everything.
3. Get rid of things that don’t have a place in your home.
4. Keep things where they need to be.
5. Make things accessible.
Do these tips every single day and tackle different rooms in your home, especially that junk drawer. You’ll notice a change in your life and productivity once you do.
