Planning a stay-cation with family and friends is exciting when you plan in advance. For years, we’ve been wanting to put together a mini family vacation in Florida.
Aside from our usual trips to the dog beach or heading to local museums, it was nice to finally book time together away from the everyday madness.
Taking a vacation during the school year doesn’t sound like us at all, but we recently took the time off and booked our stay at Balmoral Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Why, you ask? Because our family needed a break from our everyday routine.
Living in South Florida means taking random trips to the dog beach and local attractions such as museums and theme parks.
Sometimes getting away for a bit can be quite beneficial for the family. We’ve been chatting about taking a mini family vacation for months. We chose Balmoral Resort in Orlando because we wanted to test the location for an upcoming trip this June.

What we found was a great home-away-from-home getaway. Although it was a cloudy morning by the water park and pool, it was nice to know we didn’t have to worry about re-applying sunblock. We were able to enjoy the heated pool, test out the water park and enjoy some of the sun peaking through the clouds.

Fortunately, when you live in Florida, you get accustomed to the 10-15 minutes of rain that happens before the clouds clear up. It was the perfect weather to jump into their heated swimming pool after the waterpark.

We made our way to the arcades the next day to enjoy some of the games Balmoral Resort has to offer. The games at the arcade are free and can be found at the Clubhouse and there are other games such as pool and foosball next to the Balmoral Bar & Grill.
