I don’t mind growing old with my boys…

After finding out that we’re going to be welcoming our second child in November, things have been a bit crazy.

From a very messy home to a very active toddler, everything has really gone from a steady pace to 100 mph. And just to make sure we don’t forget anything for our due date, I have already put aside my hospital bag.

As hectic as everyday life has been, there is one thing that remains, and that is family time.

After surprising me Monday evening with a family trip to the dog park and then off to one of our favorite restaurants, Jeff asked what I wanted to do the following day — my birthday.

Those who know me know how much I really don’t make a big deal out of my birthday. Heck, if it wasn’t for social media, most people would forget about it.

What Birthdays Mean To Me
To me, birthdays are personal. I think they are a great way to re-evaluate your life and your goals. And when I sat down with myself the day before during nap time I thought about how far I have come. I also thought about how different my life would have been had I not met Jeff and the crazy turn my life has taken.

Jeff had asked what I wanted for my birthday. He suggested trips to my favorite stores to pick out whatever my heart desires, and honestly, to some that sounds like the ideal birthday gift. A shopping spree, feeling pampered, etc. But that was far from what I wanted.

A Day With Family
June is one of my favorite months, it always has been. And because we had not spent much time as a family in the last month, that was top of mind for my birthday. We planned a trip to one of our favorite dog beaches and had lunch at a local restaurant. From there, we headed home and jumped right into the pool. We all had a blast.

And at 26, I think life is looking a lot sweeter each day.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.
