Writing down your holiday shopping list can be as exciting for a parent as it is for kids. One thing we’d like to implement more of each year is ways to give back to others. That’s why I’ve partnered with Cookies For Kids’ Cancer this season.
My children have been fortunate to be surrounded by a number of people who love and care deeply for them. Oftentimes this means I end up with more items during the holidays than imagined.
Throughout the years, I’ve done my best to teach the kids about the importance of giving back to others.
For years, I’d create holiday baskets for family and friends. Since I started hosting events in our home, I’ve cut back on making these baskets.
How To Make A Difference Today
To help continue with our tradition of giving to others, I’ve decided to look for new ways to give back during the holiday season.
Below are three ways you can start giving back this year:
1. Send cookies to our family.
Cookies For Kids’ Cancer, a non-profit organization selling all-gourmet treats, recently announced it has raised $15M. All of the proceeds from cookie orders are used to fund pediatric cancer. We’re sending a package to my parents and will be including a batch of these delicious cookies as well.
2. Donate unopened gifts to our local elementary school for their toy drive.
Our boys get a lot of gifts during the holidays, many of which they might play with once and put aside. I rather gift the items to someone who would make use of the toys.
This is a great way to remind the kids of the importance of helping others in need.
3. Write Christmas cards to the veterans and their families when we donate our lightly used items.
It’s always nice to hear kind words from others. We like to bring some hope for the new year by spreading some cheer to those who might need a smile. You know what they say, the best thing you can give someone is your smile.
Cookies For Kids’ Cancer Review
There are a variety of options to choose from when ordering your cookies on the website. Each batch is made fresh before shipping to their destination.
If you’ve tried their treats then you’ll want to know the recipe. Fortunately, the non-profit organization has published a book with how to create these delicious goodies at home.
You can order your copy of the Cookies For Kids’ Cancer: All The Cookies on Amazon.
What I love most about the treats is how they’re made with love and for the right intentions — to help those in need.
Not only are they helping other families, but the organization aims to simplify the idea of giving back to those who help. These treats have quickly become the kids’ favorite cookies as well.
Another way the non-profit helps communities is by offering the option to start a fundraiser. This can be done for an upcoming event for a school, kids’ sports team, or individual.
You can also keep an eye on upcoming events to participate in, and help with the mission to help pediatric cancer patients find a cure.
Even businesses can get involved with helping spread the word. With Business Engagement options, you can have your company/employees host a baking day for team building.
There’s even Wellness Initiatives for your team members to try. This includes fundraising through marathons, golf tournaments, and workplace fitness competitions.
Local companies can take advantage of the Cause Marketing initiative as well.

Always good to give but especially during this time of year. There are so many ways to give back and these sound like some great ways to begin.
What a lovely way to raise some money for charity and it sounds like the cookies are really delicious as well. I could 100% tuck into one or two!
These are such great ways to give back. We “adopt” children in foster care. Our church gets a list of names and a few gift ideas and we always adopt one of the families and buy/gift wrap gifts for them.
It is always important to give back. I have a box sitting out for kids to put lightly used toys in for needy children. It is amazing how they often put very nice and loved items in.
These are great reminders and ideas for giving during the holiday season. I love how you framed it as being a good cookie!
These are absolutely wonderful ways to teach our kids the importance to give back. Our kids and veterans are two really awesome ways to show our kids the spirit of giving.
My husband was a vet and used to get Christmas cards when he was deployed. I volunteer in my community so that is what I do to give back.
This is a great initiative to get your children invovled in. We adopt a family in need in our community every year during the holidays. My kids really enjoy shopping and helping our yearly family out.
I have never heard of cookies for a kids. I love this idea and think it is important to give back during the holiday season. These are all great ideas.
I just love this idea. I do always want to give back, so I will look into this for sure. Plus I love cookies.
