Find Love In All The Right Places
There is so much beauty in the world, but it all starts with you.

When friends in the dating scene ask whether or not they will ever find love I used to say they need to stop looking and let it come on its own. I would throw in the importance of loving themselves and why they need to do that first before they can love someone else. But with time, my thoughts have changed.

It is not about finding or looking, it is about exploring life and all the beauty it has to offer. Before Jeff I spent four marvelous years single. It was my time to explore, embrace and enjoy the world around me. I remember going on walks and smiling just because the leaves were falling during the autumn season and taking breaks to read a book. My favorite place to be was Barnes and Noble, and although I may not visit as much as I used to, it is still my happy place.

For some people, finding love means being with someone. And for them, being alone means being lonely. Just because you are alone does not mean you are lonely — read that again. When you are young and single, people are going to wonder if someone is wrong with you. But, people rarely wonder about the people who go from relationship to relationship, searching for something they must find within themselves. And to me, that is much more of a concern than someone who is single. I have friends who cling onto someone else just because they feel a need to fill a void.

There is so much beauty in life, and that is what I tell these friends. When you are busy focusing on your goals and improving your life, you might run into the love of your life, or even someone who can bring extra happiness. But, do not cling onto someone in hopes of finding happiness. You are perfect the way you are. Let the love you have to offer someone be the love you give yourself first. Share that same love with people who already loves you for who you are and want to see you happy, like family and friends.
