This post is sponsored by Pediatric Associates as part of a Mama’Bassador campaign through Bloggin’ Mamas. Although I received compensation to share this information, all thoughts are my own.
Seeing the results on pregnancy test read the words “Pregnant” was a terrifying experience for me. If you’ve read our About section, then you’ll know motherhood came as a surprise to me at a time when I didn’t think I was ready to start a family.
When our firstborn was six months old, we moved to a different state and had to depend on ourselves to raise our little one. The online mommy community was a huge help. I read several reviews on the doctors in our area.
It wasn’t easy to choose which one would be best for our little guy.
After a couple months at a local doctor who said they accepted our insurance, we learned that we were being billed for out-of-network visits. Although I could’ve called up the doctor’s office to dispute the case, and possibly spend hours on the phone trying to solve the issue with the insurance company, I knew it was going to be easier to go elsewhere.
After all, I never really liked the front desk manager. I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I don’t get a good vibe about a person (or place), there’s a reason why.
Stick To The Familiar
Becoming a parent means you learn a lot from experience, but there are a number of lessons you can avoid by hearing someone out who has either already been through it or knows the key ways to prevent the worst from happening. I found out about Pediatric Associates before going to our first pediatrician, but at the time, our insurance wasn’t accepted at any of their locations.
However, after switching insurances, I gave Pediatric Associates a call and made an appointment.
Walking into the Hiatus location was quite welcoming. The colors — yellow, orange and blue — were inviting. It even made our son feel more comfortable knowing the place had a friendly staff. As I continued to visit this location, I noticed it reminded me of our old doctor’s office in North Jersey. It, too, was a network of children’s doctors.
More Than Just Care
The more I spent time with the doctors at Pediatric Associates, the more I noticed they understood the issues we faced with raising our children. From caring for your child to preventing future headaches, Pediatric Associates offers parents a hand to guide them through the adventures of being a parent.
There are a number of free classes for parents to try, including:
– New Parent;
– CPR and First Aid;
– Benefits of Infant Massage; and
– Breastfeeding.
Today, we continue to visit Pediatric Associates in Chapel Trail because we love Dr. Kalomiris. She cared for our youngest while we were at the hospital and have been with her since.
Aside from the free classes available at Pediatric Associates, there are other reasons why we chose to entrust our little ones in their care. Pediatric Associates is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days throughout the year. There’s even an answering service for after hours and the staff are knowledgeable and can assist you with any questions or concerns.
If you’d like to book an appointment at one of the 30+ offices across South Florida, Tampa and Jacksonville, then I suggest heading over to Pediatric Associates website. Feel free to register for an upcoming class while you’re there.
Be sure to follow Pediatric Associates on Twitter for updates.

A good pediatrician is definitely not easy to come by! This sounds like a great place for kids!
I thought the same when we first moved to South Florida. It wasn’t easy, but we’re in good hands now.
Sounds like you found a good doctor for you child. I like my doctor too as we have been seeing here for over 18 years.
Good to know that there is something like Pediatric Associates who could help mothers and inform a lot of things about parenting and how to take good care of our babies. Proper breastfeeding and infant massage will be a good help for the new parent, especially the CPR and First aids in case of emergencies.
I thought the same. They offer so many resources to new parents. Their classes definitely come in handy when you don’t have family or friends around who’ve been through it.
It’s never easy to find your groove when your baby first arrives. There are so many new things to learn and some will surprise you as well. It’s really a learning process even after your child has grown up.
It’s definitely important to find a doctor that will put your mind at ease. It’s nice to have someone that you know you can trust especially when it comes to your child’s well being.
How wonderful. This company sounds so helpful. I like how they are always available.
It is so difficult to find a good doctor these days. This sounds like a great practice. I am glad you have found someone you are happy with.
Parenting is a process. I commend you for learning this lesson early. It truly is a journey.
I am totally agreed with you and i know how important is to find a suitable doctor for your child. I am glad that you fine one for your child.
Good to know that they’re available 24/7. Here in the Philippines, most clinics are closed on Sundays.
