How To Help Other Families This School Year
With kids heading back to school this year, there continues to be a need for food assistance.
Although some schools have decided to offer free breakfast and lunch to students, others have decided to stop distribution as a whole.
There are options on how you can help families get the right nutrients during their time of need. Below are 3 ways you can offer a hand:
- Pack extra lunches for your children to share with a friend
- Send a groceries to a friend
- Ask the kids if they’ve had enough to eat.

Sometimes parents won’t tell the truth about the struggles they are facing as a family, but children will often tell you if they don’t have enough to eat.
It only takes your willingness to lend a hand and one person to reach for it.
Offer your help as much as you can this school year. There’s someone out there who will appreciate it.

These are great ideas. I am not looking forward to packing lunches for my kids. I have 1 that only wants hot food and the other one is easy with a sandwich. Less than a week and we are back at it for another school year.

There are some great ideas here! Our district is doing free breakfast and lunch for all students again this year so my boys eat at school. But as a guest teacher, I don’t get free lunch so I am going to use these ideas for myself! Unfortunately, most schools don’t allow sharing of food due to allergy concerns, so I couldn’t make an extra lunch for them to bring for a friend in need.
Having a handy list of quick school lunch ideas is so important. Moms often feel overwhelmed and at the same time, need to prepare everything on time.
