The memories you share with family and friends on social media channels can be used to create Instagram print gifts. With the help of Social Print Studio, you can use the Insta prints to create framed images to hang on the wall, photo books for family members, magnets for your home, and more.
I was asked to check out the softcover photo books when the company launched it and share my review. This post breaks down my experience with the brand and why I continue to order from them today.
Sending images of your kids through social channels and text messages is a quick way to share memories with loved ones. However, those images aren’t always the easiest to find to share again. Although I love sharing memories with family and friends, I like to preserve them as well.
How To Order Prints From Instagram
To make simplify the process, a small company based in San Francisco named Social Print Studio has been helping people create gifts from Instagram photos since 2010. The company has expanded its array of products since then to offer more than Insta prints and signature photo books.
I discovered the Instagram printer app through a friend’s social post in 2011 and I’ve been using them ever since. Today, you can use Insta prints to create a number of custom projects such as metal prints, photo books, cards, a daily/monthly calendar, wood prints, and even photo stickers.
Starting a project through the app is simple. There are a handful of options I’ve come to love as a long-time customer of this app for printing Instagram photos: classic prints; photo books; modern frame prints; magnets; and canvas prints.
The classic prints I use as part of our holiday family tradition to share memories from the year with the kids and our family in other states. It’s great for sending photos of the kids to family members who haven’t seen them in a while.
Classic prints are laminated and are offered in sets of 24 prints starting at $15. There are square and rectangular sizes.
Just as an FYI: standard photo prints are 4×6. This is our favorite size for classic prints.
If you’re not a fan of photo scrapping but would like to preserve memories of your family, then I recommend the Social Print Studio photo books. Currently, there are five options: flatlay photo album; hardcover, softcover; mini photo books; and tiny books.
Photo books start at $20.
I’ve tried both the hard- and softcover photo books. My favorite has been the hardcover one because it’s more durable with small kids. A softcover is still a great option if you’re looking to create a library of these photo books.
The modern frame prints fall under wall art and decor because they are the perfect touch to any space in your home. I’ve picked up two since they’ve launched and added them to the half bathroom and my small office.
Modern frame prints start at $45 and are available in 5 sizes: 4×4; 8×8; 8×10; 11×14; and 16×20.
Yes, you can print Instagram magnets to share memories on our fridge through Social Print Studio. These are my favorite to snag every year for the family.
The magnets can be ordered in 3 different sizes: 2×2; 3×3; and 1 inch (circular). Each set starts at $18.
Starting at $35, the canvas prints are a nice touch for the home. It’s a great option for hi-res photos and can be ordered in 4 different sizes: 8×8; 8×10; 11×14; and 16×20.
The canvas print we recently ordered was for the bedroom and it’s been a great addition to our home.
Choosing An Image To Print From Instagram
Once you know what product you’d like to use to print from Instagram, you’ll need to think the image. Not all images work for every project.
You can always adjust images before submitting them through the app for print.
My favorite images to choose for the projects are light images and those that have pop of color. This makes it easy to choose a frame or not.
Please note, images from Instagram have been cropped. You can always use the original image in your phone to print from Social Print Studio if you feel the image isn’t working for you.
Feel free to reach out to their customer service if you have any questions about your order. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your question or concern.
You can always place an order from your computer to use images from Facebook or your Google Drive, Google Photos, and Dropbox accounts. Each image can be selected from different locations.
For me, choosing an image is always based on the comments on the photo. For instance, if family and friends like an image on my social channel and have shared or left comments on the image.
Before continuing with my order, I skim through my Instagram feed in search of the perfect images to send to loved ones. Based on their feedback, I’ll use the image from my social profile and place an order.
I typically order several prints every couple of months to make sure I have the most up-to-date Insta prints to share with family and friends.
Memories Of Our Great Life
When the softcover photo books launched, I was one of the first to give these Instagram photo products a try. Choosing the images for my softcover photo book was a breeze.
It was my second family photo book from Social Print Studio and I had been thinking about all the images that I wanted to include of us and all of the moments we’ve shared together since the first photo book was created. When it came down to giving the photo book a title, I couldn’t use “Our Boys” again.
Our first photo book didn’t include pictures of our infant. There are just photos of our pup and firstborn.
This time, I needed something that summed up our life together. My always uses “#ourgreatlife” in his social media posts and he’s mentioned it in our daily text messages to one another.
I had told him about ordering the softcover photo book, but I didn’t mention the title I used. When the package arrived I couldn’t wait to show him. He smiled at the cover as he read the title. It was nice to see how much he appreciated the small gesture.
I like look and feel of the softcover photo book, and have been contemplating on the idea of creating one as a portfolio to showcase the different brands I’ve worked with in the past.
How To Use Social Print Studio For Your Business
Whether you have a team or it’s just you, the company has options for you to choose to market yourself. From stickers to calendars, gifts from Instagram photos (or other channels) are a great way to connect with a current and future customer.
Sending a custom holiday card about your business is perfect for mom bloggers who want to thank clients for working with them throughout the year.
Stickers also add a nice touch for small businesses to add to packages for customers to share with family and friends. It’s a good idea to add extra ones to help spread the word.
As mentioned above, the photo books are great for showcasing images — similar to a portfolio.
The framed prints are a nice touch for the office space. I used an image from the first trip to Legoland to remind me one of my favorite days together. It’s an inspiration to keep going on tough days.

What a great way to share memories!
Thanks, Candace. I really love how much they pay attention to detail in their packaging (and the timeframe between the ordering process to shipment!)
I love this idea. Now selfies and instagram seem so common but actual prints or just a real memory is so nice. I miss that.
