We all have a hard time dealing with, well… Hard times. And after spending the last couple of days dragging my feet, I finally realized what was wrong.
I’ve been letting a certain situation in my life impact my everyday.
Seeing The Light
There are so many reasons to smile, starting with family.
And little by little, I’ve been seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
To help me get out of the funk, I began to focus on happier things. Below I share three ways I regained my happiness:
1. Got out of the house.
I made it a point this weekend to not only go out with the boys, but to get out of the house.
Sometimes being a SAHM can drive you insane if all you ever really go out to do is errands.
2. Made my boys smile.
Lately, I’ve been making it a point to do things they would each enjoy, including the pup.
3. Made myself smile.
I knew what was bothering me, so I started reaching out to different people, learning the things that worked for them and molded their strategy into my own.
I had to have a pep talk with myself on what’s more important — my family, and their happiness.
How do you get yourself out of the funk?

Making my kids happy (and our dog, too), definitely helps me stay positive and happy. Their smiles are golden.
Yes! Pups deserve some loving, too! ๐
When I'm in a funk I get out of the house and go on as many adventures as possible! Thanks for sharing xo!
Adventures are always fun! ๐
I actually wrote about this last November (http://stylishgeekblog.com/home/2015/11/get-out-of-a-funk/) because I was in a funk after finding out work changes when our company got bought out. Interestingly, writing got myself out of it. Reading blogs from my network of bloggers helped me keep my mind off the negative. So I am thankful for this community! ๐
That's true. Blogger networks definitely help with connecting to other likeminded folks.
It is so much better to be happy than sad…I love that you are keeping positive by doing things with family. That is the best, isn't it?
Getting out of the house almost ALWAYS gets me out of my funk. Going for a run or just being outside usually does it for me too ๐
When I am in a funk I turn on the praise and worship music and tune everything else out.
Doesn't take long until I am feeling more like myself and am able to continue on.
awww so sweet
It is true staying at home drives me crazy so it is good to get some fresh air! Well done for being so positive x
I 100% agree about getting out the house! I am a SAHM and we didnt even have a second vehicle for the first 3 years of my daughter's life. Besides little walks to the park, I was stuck. Once I could get out every day, I swear I totally changed! Not only is it good for you as a mom, it is great for your kids!
I agree with getting out of the house! If all I get out of the house for is to run errands, I got crazy!
