My laptop is taking a break, and part of me was thinking of doing the same from my blog after a tiny incident that turned out to be huge. 

Last week while having dinner with my little guy, I had this genius idea to take my computer to the dining table to work on upcoming blog posts and scheduling social posts. I think I got as far as opening up my computer before my son got a tantrum and pushed his cup of water out of his way and directly toward my laptop. 
There were tears and lots of frustration. I did my best to bring it back to life, but this weekend I planned a trip to the Genius Bar to see if they can make sense out of what happened. I have a strange feeling it’s the keyboard, but we’ll know by Sunday. Until then, it’s me and the iPad again, like good ole times. 
Please excuse the funky images. I’m still trying to get the hang of using Canva on the iPad and it seems to be lacking some features I love so dearly — or maybe I don’t know how to work them. Either way, it’s just the two of us for now. At least I still have my Logitech keyboard. It definitely makes life so much easier when blogging on an iPad. 
Although I had this major setback this week, I did continue to plan upcoming blog posts in my planner and wrote them out on my Notes app, just as I had done when my son was a newborn. It was probably the only way to get my thoughts down without missing a beat. I guess doing it again prepares me for our second child. I still can’t believe how fast this pregnancy is going! 

Aside from using the Notes App, there were a couple of things I did to keep myself still thinking of my blog without necessarily being able to access it. Below I highlight three of them: 
1. Never lost hope. I think I tried everything possible to revive my laptop, and everything seemed to work for everyone in the forums, but not me. Still, I gave my laptop a week to dry and cool off and nothing came of it. I have hope the Genius Bar folks have the answer, and that my Macbook isn’t fried. 
2. Appreciated the moments. I think it’s safe to say that when you open up your schedule for something else, you find that you have time for so much more. I work on my blog while my little guy sleeps, and with my laptop down, I was able to get in a nap myself. And of course, sneak in some cuddle time. 😉 
3. Found alternatives. Yes, working on Jeff’s iPad vs working on my laptop is a huge difference, more so since I use certain applications to enhance and promote my posts, but where there’s a will there’s always a way. Thankfully, I’m pretty tech savvy and know what to do problems like these arise.
