Being home with a toddler and an infant sounds like something straight out of a horror film, and sometimes it may feel that way.
One screams, the other one cries… and then our dog howls. And the moon may or may not be out.
Just the howling is enough to drive someone mad.
But then there are moments of silence.
It’s Not That ‘Bad’
You read memes about moms having to deal with temper tantrums, and how certain infants cry so much that you want to pull your hair out. And don’t get me started on the Facebook photos about the messes dogs make around the house and yard.
As much as those images might highlight some truth from my everyday life, those are just an insignificant part of family life.
Yes I’ve run off to a corner or waited for my toddler’s nap time to eat a cookie, but that’s not an everyday thing.
Every day, I get the opportunity to start fresh. Most of my day involves caring for tiny humans, but I get to sneak in me time as well.
The Sacrifices Continue With Age
We’ve made several sacrifices since we found out we were going to be parents to help make things easier for our family.
And they didn’t stop there.
The older our boys become, the more sacrifices we’ll have to make, and we’ve come to understand that it’s just part of being a parent.
The transition from working full time to becoming a full-time mom has helped me understand there’s more to life than a paycheck and paying bills.
Without them, I would’ve never gone back to blogging/writing. They have become my inspiration. As they continue to evolve so will my blog, and I’m perfectly fine with that. I’ve met some amazing women through it, and I have my boys to thank.
Our boys are constant reminders of how much our lives have intertwined. They are what makes this family whole.

This is so true and so beautifully written. Like I said this morning as we watched that scope, I needed this. So often we get caught up and "stuck" in the mundane and forget to dance in the rain. Thank you for the reminder!
You're welcome.
Isn't it funny how we always get stuck in those tiny moments. We can learn so much from these little ones.
